Before her birth we were denied from this right,
We couldn't portray this talent to make our future bright!
We were not allowed to loosen up our thoughts,
We were the slaves of the males and our dreams were shattered with rods!

But God gave us a chance to prove them wrong,
He gave us a fighter to make our position strong!
She was born in the Restoration era,
She was the first woman to earn her own fera!

She helped us to achieve the freedom to write,
Before her birth we were denied of this right!
Our life was governed by our father and husband,
They only considered us slaves and never became our friend!

It is only because of her that today we can write,
She helped us listen to our souls and make our future bright!
Virginia Woolf helped me to know about her,
This lady wrote beautifully and was a fighter!

Her name was Aphra Behn,
The only playwright of her reign!
