Tuesdays with Morrie: A Review

Tuesdays with Morrie: A Review

The book starts with a brief by a student about his dying Professor due to a disease. But still the Professor is full on his spirits ready to give everything he can in his last moments. As the story moves forwards you get to know about the last thesis of Mitch with Morrie, his dying Professor who is still alive and in his full spirits other than people who see death as an oblivion. He shares with Mitch his wonderful lessons about life, they talk on subjects like death, culture, religion, marriage, life, love. Throughout the book Morrie is the person who gasps so much popularity through his disease because of his nature of giving. He said, “Giving makes him feel like I’m alive.”

Throughout the book there are many teachings and discussions, as the dead man tells the living man about the important things of the life. He tells him, “Death ends a life, not a relationship.” He tells him about the unconditional love, “Love is when you are as concerned about someone else’s situation as you are about your own.” He tells him that humans are not superior than nature they are rather a part of the nature. The most precious thing about the book is their significance about Tuesdays, especially when he imagines about their conversation on the grave and he really feels the rhythm of his presence, that scene was really a touchy scene.

You must read this book at least once in your lifetime, after you finish reading it you will feel as Morrie is your own Professor. I will surely give my Professor a visit whenever I will get that chance. Professors like him are hard to find, I hope his soul rests in peace and his influence last beyond the oblivion, because as his student I know, “Deep inside, it was not dying that truly rattled Morrie. It was being forgotten.” Remember my Professor Morrie not because he died but because he deserves to be remembered.
